Capture Data Types

In this article, you will learn more about the types of data that can be captured.

There are 4 main types of data that can be captured:

User Input

  1. After a button is added, Click ‘Capture Data’. 
  2. The Action field should display ‘capture’. 
  3. ‘Key’ is the attribute you want to measure, and is the attribute name that can be referenced elsewhere in the virtual assistant.
  4. Select ‘User Input’. 
  5. Click ‘+ Next Step’, and select the next content node to bring the user to if the user clicks on the button. 
  6. Click on the tick on the header bar to save the content node. 

Text

  1. After a button is added, Click ‘Capture Data’.

  4. Select ‘Text’. 
  5. ‘Value’ refers to the result that will be returned to the bot if the user clicks this button. 
  6. Click ‘+ Next Step’, and select the next content node to bring the user to if the user clicks on the button. 
  7. Click on the tick on the header bar to save the content node.

Number

  1. After a button is added, Click ‘Capture Data’.

  4. Select ‘Number’. 
  5. ‘Value’ refers to the result that will be returned to the bot if the user clicks this button. 
  6. Click ‘+ Next Step’, and select the next content node to bring the user to if the user clicks on the button. 
  7. Click on the tick on the header bar to save the content node.

Boolean

  1. After a button is added, Click ‘Capture Data’. 
  2. The Action field should display ‘capture’. 
  3. ‘Key’ is the attribute you want to measure, and is the attribute name that can be referenced elsewhere in the virtual assistant.
  4. Select ‘Boolean’. 
  5. Toggle the True/False button appropriately. 
  6. Click ‘+ Next Step’, and select the next content node to bring the user to if the user clicks on the button. 
  7. Click on the tick on the header bar to save the content node.
